Weldon Ford "Shorty" Kyle

March 8, 1931 — June 13, 2017

Weldon Ford Kyle (Shorty), 86, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2017. Shorty was born March 8, 1931 to Myrtle Wofford Kyle and Garland Kyle in McCool, MS. He was a member of McCool Baptist Church. He enlisted in the Army in December 1948-1951. He was a PFC of Engineers 114th Motor Pool Headquarters and Service Company at Camp McCoy Wisconsin. He served in the Korean War. He also was with the National Guard Armory in Drew, MS. He moved to McCool in 1960 and he worked for Superior Coach for nine years, followed by Redd Pest Control for fifteen years, and worked for Merigold Hunting Club as caretaker for twelve years until he retired. Shorty was a lifelong farmer as a way of life, but you would have to ask him if he enjoyed it. Shorty leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary J. Kyle; four children, Deborah K Linder of Houston, TX, Tobie Kyle and Ray Jericho of Greensburg, PA, Jeff Kyle and Becky of McCool, and Janice Mosley of Kosciusko; four step-children, Flora Chipley of Kosciusko, Webb Chipley and Linda of Kosciusko, Lois Shinabargar and Tink of Carthage, and Walter Chipley and Karen of Aurora, CO. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Brent Horne and Shaura of Magnolia, TX, Jeffrey Kyle of McCool, Jazz Nail and Colby of Kosciusko, and nine step- grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren. He is survived by three sisters, Judy Halbert and David of Houston, TX, Gail Smith and Eddie of Greenville, MS, Helen Moore and Marshall of Houston, TX; many nieces and nephews and family and friends we love and are so grateful for. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Lee and Carol Kyle. Service will be held at Jordan Funeral Home for viewing on June 15 from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday from 11-1 pm and services to follow on June 16 at 1 p.m. Services will be officiated by Rev. Bobby Parish, obituary by Wilbur Brunt and the benediction by Rev. Richard Hill. The music will be performed by Gary Barnes and congregational songs. Pallbearers are Brent Horne, Jeffrey Kyle, Chase Chipley, Matt Hood, Will Steinkuhler, Todd Kyle and Mike Kyle. Online condolences can be made at jordanfuneralhome.com.
