Warren Wasson

Warren Wasson, 88, of Nokomis, FL, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2022. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Shady Grove Cemetery. Brother Wasson was born to Resa and Verna Wasson on October 1, 1933, in High Point, MS. Warren served 43 years in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. He retired from the ministry in 1999 after serving at Grace United Methodist Church for four years. Warren was heavily involved with Suncoast Emmaus and always wanted to share his faith with those he met. He enjoyed fishing, turkey hunting, reading, and gardening, but his favorite pastime was being with his family. Surviving family members include his wife of 66 years, Dorris Ann Wasson; sons, Luke and Wes; daughters, Edna and Nancy; sister, Elizabeth “Cricket” King; 6 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Dell Hubbard.
