Verna Marie Lane Lord

Verna Lane Lord of Olive Branch, MS died at 80 on June 1, 2015. She was born in Hominy, OK and graduated from Midwest City High School, OK, in 1953. Verna is survived by husband of 60 years, Donald Lord; daughter, Donna Lord; both of Olive Branch MS; daughter and son-in-law Diane and Craig Samuelsen; 3 grandchildren, Sonia Ericson, Aubrey Samuelsen, Kirk Samuelsen; two great grandchildren, all of Massachusetts; 1 sister and 3 brothers of Oklahoma City. Verna is preceded by beloved daughter Lisa Lord Mistilis of AL, parents Hubert and Nettie Lane, 3 brothers and 3 sisters of Oklahoma City. Verna was a long distance telephone operator early in her career, worked 30 years for the Internal Revenue Service, and will be fondly remembered for her community service at Oakhaven High School and Oakhaven Baptist church in Memphis. Visitation will be June 8 at Jordan Funeral home, Kosciusko, MS from 1:00 to 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service 2:00 to 3:00 at Marvin Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Old Natchez Trace Road, Kosciusko, MS.
