Shirley Clower Bass, 78, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 at the Kosciusko First Baptist Church with burial in the Richardson Family Cemetery in Jena, La at 5 p.m. Jordan Funeral Home in in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Barry Corbett, Rev. Mark Parnell and Rev. Gerald Richardson will officiate. She loved team sports and was very competitive. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints since 1967. She was a graduate of Arlington High School in Arlington, GA and of Berry College in Rome, GA. She was an expert fisherman and an avid reader. She was a faithful member of the Kosciusko First Baptist Church, where she was past president of the WMU and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a past WMU Director of the Attala Baptist Association for the State of Mississippi. She was active in her community as a present member and past president of the Kosciusko Garden Club and a volunteer for the Natchez Trace Visitors center. Her survivors include three daughters, Lynnette (Marty) Williams of Madison, MS, Leslie Suele` Bass of Miami, FL, and Lisa (Jeff) Hodges of Madison, MS; grandchildren, Kimberly and Christopher Williams and Scarlett and Sydney Hodges; brother, Kenneth Clower of Albany, GA; and sisters-in-law, Betty S. Bass of Little Rock, AR, Bobbye Patton of Bridgeport, TX, and Ailene Clower of Blakely, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie W. "Sam" Bass; and her parents, Norman Noel and Essie Lou Harris Clower. Pallbearers for Kosciusko services are Kevin Lawrence of Memphis, Jeff Hodges of Madison, Aubrey McMillan of Canton, Marty Williams of Madison, Jimmy Jenkins of Kosciusko, and Christopher Williams of Madison. Pallbearers for Jena, La services are Christopher Williams, Jeff Hodges, Marty Williams, Robert Bass of Wisner, La, Malcolm "Little Mac" Harris, Jr. of Wisner, La, and Murphy McMillin of Jena, La. Honorary pallbearers for Jena, La services are Matthew Bass of Wisner, La, Danny Bass of Wisner, La, Donny Richardson of Jena, La, and Gary Richardson of Calhoun, La.
