Shirley Ann Smith

Shirley Frazier Smith at the age of 75 departed this life on August 13, 2014 in Gulfport, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Jordan's Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. Rev. Jerry Meggs will be officiating. Ms. Smith was born in Kosciusko on November 6, 1938 to the late Lamar and Myrtle Frazier. She was the youngest of four children. She married Jimmy Smith in 1954 and moved to New Orleans, LA she also resided in San Diego, CA, Jackson, MS, Kosciusko, MS and finally the Mississippi Gulf Coast. While in Kosciusko, Ms. Smith managed Jacks restaurant, where she enjoyed morning coffee with members of the community. These were great friends that held a special place in her heart. Her working career was as a manager of various restaurants. Ms. Smith leaves three siblings behind, Edward Frazier, Myrna Belsom, and Dean Overstreet, daughter Zina Smith Dartez and granddaughter Jimi Sanders, a great granddaughter, Sabree Sanders and great grandson, Bentley Bounds, Ms. Smith's partner and best friend of 21 years, Donald LaFlamme, and a host of loving nieces and nephews whom have a special place and memory of "Aunt Shirley". Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Smith.
