Sandy Spears Slade Kosciusko Sandra Spears Slade, 65, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be 11-2 p.m. Wednesday, December 12 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Derrick Wilson and Rev. Jimmie Smith will officiate. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Smith Leonard Post 4572 in Wetumpka, AL. She also helped kick off the Wounded Warrior Project. She worked at Scotties in Kosciusko. She became a hairdresser with her own shop, and later worked for the Beauty Center. She was also an avid softball player on the Co-ed team. People said she look like Reba McIntyre and acted like Lucille Ball. She was associated with Sallis Baptist Church, Parkway Baptist Church, and the Abundant Life Church. She had a vibrant personality, loved people, and enjoyed friends and family. Survivors include her husband, David Slade of Kosciusko; son, Lee (Rachel) Burrell of Kosciusko; step-son, Chad Slade of Saucier; step-daughter, Bridgett Slade of Saucier; grandchildren, Aubrey Burrell and Charlie Burrell; step-grandchildren, Garrett Slade, Gavin Volentine and Hannan Volentine; brother, Ronnie (Brenda) Spears of Auburndale, Randy (Carol)Spears of Kosciusko, and Timothy Spears of Houston, TX; sister, Linda (Luther) Kuykendall of Pascagoula; and special sister-in-law, Dawn Moore of Brandon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Turnage and Cornelia Dean Spears Hudgins; step-father, Paden Hudgins; sister, Patricia McMahon; and brothers, Mickey Spears, Eddy Spears, and Keith Spears. Pallbearers will be Chad Slade, Nathan Hutchinson, Drew Kuykendall, Shannon Spears, Garrett Slade, and Timothy Spears. Honorary pallbearers will be B. J. Edwards, Marty Price, and Frankie Hines the Commander of Post 4572.
