Dr. Roman J. Miller December 27, 1930 – May 26, 2017 Dr. Roman J. Miller, 86, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, died at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi on May 26, 2017. He was born December 27, 1930, to John E. and Ella Mae (Yoder) Miller in St. Joseph County, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Una (Berens) Miller who he married on June 16, 1955, in Burnips, Michigan. Surviving are also six children - Beth (John) Muehleisen, Faith (Jeff) Tillman, Mary Miller, Stephen Miller, Martha (Mike) Reyes, and Joel Miller, five grandchildren - Holly Muehleisen, Faith (Muehleisen) Nichols, Sarah (Reyes) Thomsen, Drew Tillman, Beth Tillman, and four great-grandchildren. He has one surviving brother, Delbert (Josie) Miller of New Paris, Indiana, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Ella Mae (Yoder) Miller, brothers Eli Miller, Sylvanus Miller, Lonnie Miller and sisters Marie (Miller) Darrenkamp, Ruby (Miller) Kull, Mary (Miller) Miller, and Lena (Miller) Fry. Dr. Miller graduated from Bethel College, Mishawaka, Indiana, with a B.A. in Bible, from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky, with a Masters of Divinity, and received an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi. With his call to serve God and his passion for people, Dr. Miller served as a minister of the gospel, Bible college professor and president, director of prayer ministries and international missions pastor with World Gospel Mission, and executive director of the Association of Independent Methodists. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. There will also be visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Williamsville Independent Church with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Dr. Chris Lorhstorfer and Rev. Jay Frazier, two of Dr. Miller's former students, will officiate. The graveside service will follow immediately afterwards at Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care provided by Dr. William Loper and the staff at St. Dominic's Hospital during his recent illness.
