Robert "Dick" Earl Mcgivney

Robert Earl McGivney, better known as Dick, of Ethel, MS was born on April 28, 1959. His parents are Bonnie McGivney Howell and the late Charles Robert McGivney. Robert passed away on February 8, 2022 at Oxford MS Baptist Hospital. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 and 1-3 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Frank Terry will be officiating. He was born and raised in Kosciusko, MS, where he worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission for 28 years. After retiring from the Forestry, he enjoyed fishing and hunting trips and growing a very plentiful garden, which he shared with his family and friends. He also loved taking care of his pigs, peacocks, cows, cats, dogs, and chickens. Dick is survived by his wife, Joyce McGivney of Ethel; stepsons, Leonard Beard of Carthage, MS and Wiley (Emily) Beard of Kosciusko; stepdaughter, Jody Jolly of Ethel; grandchildren, Dylan Boatman, Aryen Albert, and Michael Albert; his mother, Bonnie McGivney Howell; sisters, Janet (Bob) McGivney of Illinois, Mary (Kevin) Taylor of Aberdeen, MS, Bonnie Sue (Mike) Ferrari of Apex, NC; and Linda Battles from Texas; brother, Richard “Ricky” (Shannon) McGivney of Ethel; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Robert McGivney and his sister Betty McGivney. Serving as pallbearers will be Clarence McDaniel, Waylon Philley, Johnny Barber, Kevin Dees, David Rawson, and Cedric Frazier. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Leon Dees.
