Rev. Ralph Hunt

Rev. Ralph Gilmore Hunt, 73, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation is 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, and 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Isaacs Cemetery. Rev. Nate Carroll, Rev. Billy Frazure, and Rev. Charles Moore will officiate the services.
Rev. Hunt retired from the Canadian National Railroad after 42 years as a Signal Inspector. He served in Christian Ministry for 34 years pastoring churches in Attala, Leake, and Holmes Counties. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports and loved watching the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Barbara Merchant Hunt of Ridgeland, MS; one daughter, Paula Hunt Carroll, and her husband, Nate of Madison, MS; four sisters, Linda Perry of Sallis, MS, Retta Goss of Montgomery, AL, Roberta Rutherford of Kosciusko, MS, and Cindy Donald of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Nova Josiah Carroll, Micah Ralph Carroll, and his fiancé, Brittany Allen, and Abigail Claire Carroll. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Dickerson and Barbara Cecile Poole.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Merchant, Paul Moore, Micah Carroll, Josiah Carroll, Mark Perry, and Jerry Meggs.
