Ramona Coghlan Spears

Mrs. Ramona C. Spears 83, of Ethel, MS. died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at her residence. She was a retired remedial math Teacher for the fourth, fifth and sixth grades at Greenlee School in Ethel for fifteen years. She was member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mississippi Educators Association and Providence Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jessie Spears; her parents, Ira Quitman and Ida Ruth Woods Coghlan; son, Ira Spears; sister June Freeman; and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters: Rose Jernigan and her husband Frank of Ethel, MS, and Barbara Gregory and her husband Kerry of Casper, Wyoming. five sons: John Spears and his wife, Jan of Ethel ,MS, Barry Spears and his wife, Mary of Kosciusko, MS, David Spears and his wife, Barbara Jean of Ethel, MS, Donnie Spears of Brandon, MS. and Ronnie Spears and his wife, Shirley of Pelahatchie, MS; sister, Evelyn Ryals of Pelahatchie, MS; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Officiants are Rev. Willie Bishop and Rev. George Pitts. Pallbearers are Alex Gregory, Andrew Gregory, Philip Jernigan, Timothy Jernigan, Charlie Jones, and Katie Marshall.
