Percy Lyle Wagar

Percy L. Wagar Jr., age 62 of Kosciusko, Mississippi (formerly of Dexter)passed away Sunday June 26, 2016 at UMMC Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi following a long illness. Percy was born March 28, 1954 the son of Percy L. Wagar Sr. and Kathleen Miller Wagar. He retired from the US NAVY after serving for 20 years, where he was specialized in maintenance of Air Launched Weapons Technology. He also retired from Entergy Power Company in Mississippi in 2013. He was an avid golfer and a member of Red Bud Springs Golf and Country Club in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Percy married Linda Walts of Dexter in March of 1975. He is survived by his wife Linda; a daughter Marie (Michael) Chang of Middletown, Delaware; and a son Randy Wagar of Plano, Texas. He has three brothers: Les Wagar, Keith Wagar and Bruce Wagar all of Dexter, as well as a sister Tammy McCargar f Chaumont. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Wendy Shawcross. A funeral service will be held July7th at 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, NY with Rev. Don Briant officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery with full military honors. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
