Norma Burnley Branch

October 27, 1928 — December 26, 2014

Norma Burnley Branch, age 86, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 26th, 2014. She was welcomed to Heaven by Wayne, her beloved husband of 30 years. From her childhood years in Sallis, MS, Norma's life-goal was to be a nurse so that she could help others. After graduating from Gilfoy's School of Nursing in 1954, Norma started a nursing career in Attala County which spanned over 50 years. With her servant's spirit, Norma was gifted with the ability to make friends easily. As a greeter and longtime Sunday School teacher at Kosciusko FUMC, Norma touched the lives of many, many families! She loved children and was fondly known as "Aunt Norma" or "Ms. Norma" to numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many "adopted" children and grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Pascal, and her parents, Story Leon and Clara Burnley. She is survived by two brothers, Bob Burnley (wife-Glenda) of Monroe, LA and Jerrell Burnley of Macon, MS, and her sister-in-law, Norma Burnley of San Antonio, TX and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS, from 1pm-3pm on December 30th, 2014, with a memorial service in the chapel at Jordan's beginning at 3pm. Interment will follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. Memorials may be made to Kosciusko First United Methodist Church or French Camp Academy.
