Mrs. Nola Milner Ellis, 97, of the Carmack Community, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Vaiden Community Living Center. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Jordan Funeral Home, in Kosciusko. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Friendship Cemetery. Rev. Gary Thornton will officiate. Mrs. Ellis was born March 7, 1920, in the Liberty Chapel Community of Attala County. She was a homemaker, and retired after many years of service from the Carmack School as a teacher's assistant. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church for most of her life and after services discontinued at Friendship, she moved her letter to Shiloh Independent Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Quinton A. Ellis; her parents, Robert Lee and Lemma Wasson Milner; her brothers, Arnold, Clayton, Dumas, and Robert Lee, Jr. (Bob) Milner; and sisters, Lucille Yates, Lessie Betley, and Christine Flint. Mrs. Ellis is survived by sisters, Earlene Lefoldt and Merle Witt, both of Ridgeland, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family thanks the staff of Vaiden Community Living Center, and a special thanks to Peggy Golden for the loving care given her of the past three years. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Armstrong, Philip Ellis, Ed McDonald, Jerome Milner, Ralph Milner, and Kirby Pender. Memorials may be made to the Friendship Cemetery Fund, 13342 Attala Road 3122, Vaiden, MS 39176.
