Nelvie Hamilton Winter

Nelvie Hamilton Winter, 80, passed away on January 7, 2016, at Atwood Personal Care Home in Noxapater, MS. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Josie Hamilton, her husband, Craton Winter, five brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by one sister, Rosie Snelling, Richland, MS, and sister-in-law Merle Hamilton, Lexington, MS, seventeen nieces and nephews, and caregivers Trudy and David Gunter. Nelvie was born August 28, 1935, in Thomastown, MS, and moved to New Orleans at age 19, where she met and married her husband. After Hurricane Katrina they moved to Mississippi, and lived in Vicksburg since 2005 to be close to their special niece, Lynn Alford. Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday, January 11, from 12:30 until 1:30, with graveside service and interment at Jenkins Cemetery, McAdams, MS, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gideons, International.
