Nancy Edwards

Nancy Mitchell Edwards, 79, of Kosciusko, Mississippi passed away January 27, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation is 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate.

Nancy was born September 15, 1943, in Selma, Alabama to Travis Larone Mitchell and Gladys (Blakely) Mitchell. She was a member of Kosciusko First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Nancy loved the outdoors and working especially in her yard. She also loved word search. Nancy was a homemaker.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Alice Ann Edwards (Bill) Peacock of McCalla, Alabama; sister-n-law Ann Edwards (Travis) McAdams of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters Merilyn (Paul) Knighton of Jasper, Alabama, Leta Mims of Carrollton, Mississippi, and Alice (Billy) Self of Kosciusko, Mississippi; grandchildren Brandon Peacock of Birmingham, Alabama and Brock (Paulina) Peacock of Tonitown, Arkansas; great- grandchildren Blake Peacock and Avery Ann Peacock; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Travis Larone Mitchell and Gladys (Blakely) Mitchell; husband Mississippi State Trooper James Henry Edwards; sister Desiree Mitchell Everett; and brother-in- law Charles Mims.
