Mildred Odom Graves

Mildred Odom Graves, 98, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS. Visitation will be at 12:30 with service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Mildred was born May 17, 1916 to Boud and Lurinda Odom in Leake County, MS. Growing up during the "depression years" she found work at the Apanoug Cotton Mill in Kosciusko and this is where she met her loving husband, James Graves. She is preceded in death by both parents; husband; three brothers, J.B. Odom, Carlton Odom, and Royce Earl Odom; and three sisters, Velma Woods, Opal Gentry, and Jewel Reynolds. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Kosciusko for many years up until her health forced her to stay home and watch on television. Survivors include: son, James E. "Jimmy" Graves and wife, Kay Clippinger; two granddaughters, Karen Stephens and husband, Kenny and Kellye Graves; one great-grandchild, Kory James Stephens who she loved very much. The family sends special thanks to the nurses, aides, and staff at Highland Home and Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland for their kind and loving care.
