Mike Ryan

Michael Robert Ryan, 79, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Baptist Medical Center-Attala in Kosciusko, MS. Memorial Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko, with Rev. Phillip Palmertree officiating the services.

Mike was born to Jerry and Mary Mackey Ryan on February 1, 1944, in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of the US Naval Academy Class of 1966 in Annapolis, MD. After his service in the Navy, Mike graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with an MBA. He also earned a Professional Engineering license in Florida and worked for Fortune 500 companies throughout the Southeastern US. He eventually went on to become the President and Chairman of the Board of HA Phillips, a manufacturer of pressure vessels used in industrial refrigeration located in Dekalb, IL. Mike remained an active USNA alumnus serving as a Blue and Gold Officer, forming the first alumni chapter in Sarasota, FL, and was an avid Navy football fan. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy (Collins) Ryan of Kosciusko, MS; three daughters, Michelle Lee Polly and her husband, Gary of Bradenton, FL; Mary Lee Perry of Las Vegas, NV; Marcie Lee Anderson and her husband, Michael of Shepherd, MT; one sister, Sandra Perry of Pace, FL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry Ryan, and one sister, Patricia Mills.
