Mickey Burns

Mickey Burns, 87, of Ethel, MS, died November 30, 2023. He was an engineer who designed the water system in Jackson, MS. He was a member of Ethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran who served as a Master Machinist in the United States Navy. Mr. Burns was a Mason of the Scottish Rite and York Rite, with membership in the Carnot Posy Lodge #378. He was also a long-time employee of Walmart.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors at Tabernacle Cemetery. Rev. Matt Steed will officiate the services.

Survivors include his wife, Anna C. Glaskox Burns of Ethel, MS; son, Gary Walter Burns, and his wife, Bobbie, of Byram, MS; grandchildren, Robert Everette Burns, Abigail Gladys Burns, William Andrew Thompson, Dennis James Glaskox, and Keegan Burnside; and a brother, Percy Burns.
He is preceded by his parents, Walter Bilbo and Mary Seawright Burns; brothers, John David Burns and Charles Wilson Burns; daughter, Sherilynn Burns; and first wife, Bonnie Bond Burns.
Memorial may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
