Merle Thornton Hamilton Springdale Community Merle Thornton Hamilton, 91, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at Lexington Manor in Lexington, MS. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Musselwhite Cemetery. Rev. James Culpepper will officiate. She was a homemaker and a member of Springdale Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Anne (Ralph) Alexander of Lexington, Betty Sue Hamilton of Lexington, and Claudia Jean (Tommy) Patrick of Richland; grandchildren, Lisa (Ray) Rogers of LaGrange, GA, Ralph (Ashley) Alexander, Jr. of Gluckstadt, Wendy (Jody) Driver of South Carolina, and Tiffany Edwards of Pearl; great-grandchildren, Michael Williamson, Zane Driver, Alexa Rogers, and Glynn and Emily Edwards; sister-in-law, Rosie Snelling of Richland; and a special friends, Inez Miller Taylor and Farrell Fulgham of the Springdale community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudie B, Hamilton; parents, E. S. and Mary Campbell Thornton; sisters, Lydia Thornton Doude and Lavelle Thornton Bryant; and brother, Clayton Thornton. Pallbearers are Ralph Alexander, Jr., Ray Rogers, Tony Holder, James Caleb Holder, George Dodd, and Taylor Musselwhite. Honorary pallbearers are Frankie Hughes, Mac Miller, and David Dodd. Memorials may be sent to Springdale Baptist Church.
