Mary Carol White passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on June 11, 2017 at the age of 75. As a daughter, wife, mother, nana, aunt and friend; she was a woman who touched the lives of many and leaves behind a world that is a better place because of her life and legacy. Mary Carol's life was characterized by a strong faith, an unwavering love for her husband, and a relentless commitment to her children. She instilled perseverance, strength and love in her children and leaves these as gifts in them. Although suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 35 years, she never allowed the disease to rob her of her sweet spirit, beautiful smile, and uplifting nature. Carol brought infectious joy to everyone who knew her. She was known for her many talents, but sewing was her love. She was an avid seamstress, making many of her own clothes as well as her daughters and a few special friends. She was most known for her beautiful ball gowns and pageant dresses. Mary Carol was born in Ethel, MS on May 12, 1942 to the late Sam and Renna Mangrum Steed. She graduated from Ethel High School and soon thereafter married Monty B. White. They celebrated their 55th anniversary July 8, 2016. Mary Carol is survived by Monty B. White and their two children, Julia White Doucette, her husband Mark Doucette, and Kirby White, his wife Shelley White. She is also survived by her grandson Bailey White and granddaughter, Marie Elise White. Other survivors include her two sisters, Linda Milner and Barbara Batton. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Renne Steed; her brothers Morris Steed, Carl Lamar Steed, Doris Wade Steed, Donald Steed, and Ladell Steed; and sisters Evelyn Flanagan and Bettye Day. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14th at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Don Ray officiating, followed by burial at Stonewall Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Bailey White, Steve Steed, Rayburn Steed, Eldridge Steed, Roy Steed, and Jamie McRaney. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care and devotion of her caregiver of three years, April Rucker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stonewall Cemetery.
