Mary Bennett Burchfield Orlando, FL Mary Bennett Burchfield was born on March 6, 1924 and died on April 27, 2017. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Billy Bowie will be officiating. Mrs. Burchfield was born in Winston County, MS to Walter and Pearl Bennett. She was one of nine children. She received her B.S. Degree from Mississippi State University in 1945 in Elementary Education and taught school in Louisville and Yazoo City for 30 years before her retirement. She married Tommie Lynwood Burchfield, Sr. in 1946 and remained married until his death in 1991. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Yazoo City and after her husband's death she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisville, MS. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include one brother, Walter Bennett of Memphis, TN; one son, Dr. Tommie Burchfield and his wife, Brenda Evans Burchfield; and two granddaughters, Kasey and Whitney, all of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; seven sisters; and her husband. Pallbearers will be Carl Hogue, Tommy Marbury, Pete Reynolds, Mike Stokes, Bennett Woodall and Pruit Woodall.
