Marvin Ray Engelman

August 9, 1950 — May 21, 2015

Mr. Engelmann was born August 9, 1950, in Picayune. He was employed by the City of Durant, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a ten year veteran of the United States Army. He served two Tours of Duty in Vietnam, as a medic, was in the 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Screaming Eagles", and a recipient of the Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. He said his family and friends were the most important things in his life. Those surviving him are his wife, Brenda Pate Engelmann; a son Michael Jeffery (Sherry) Engelmann, of Tuscumbia, AL; a daughter, Beth Engelmann (John) Butler, of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Somer Nicole Engelmann, and Kaleb "Brent" Butler; a brother, Ronnie Engelmann; and two sisters, Betty Louise Engelmann, and Linda Engelmann Lambert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Grace Engelmann; and a brother, Jimmy Engelmann. Memorials may be sent to the North Union Cemetery Fund.
