Marvin R. "Pop" Lawrence

February 18, 1941 — March 3, 2016

Marvin "Pop" Lawrence was born February 18, 1941, to Homer Milton and Gladys Lewis Lawrence. He served three terms as the Sheriff of Attala County, was currently a Kosciusko Alderman, and a member of Kosciusko First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Kate Pope Lawrence; and siblings, James Lawrence, Beulah Lawrence, Ray Lawrence, Elsie Ferri, and Doyle Lawrence. Those surviving him are his sons, Charles M. "Mic" Lawrence, and wife, Andrea, of Kosciusko, and Kevin Lawrence, of Memphis, TN; grandsons, Ryan Aldy Lawrence, and Samuel Copeland Lawrence; and a sister, Nell Parkerson, of Madison. Pallbearers are Col. Chris Gillard, Lt. Col. Randy Ginn, Sheriff Ricky Banks, Sheriff Tim Nail, Chief Herbert Dew, and Capt. Bobby Land; Honorary Pallbearers are Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft, Alderman Tim Kyle, Alderman Henry Daniel, Alderman Robert Ellis, and Alderman Jeffery Woods.
