Marie Estelle Land Wray, 76, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was born December 6, 1939, to Elizabeth and Carlos Land, Sr. She graduated from Bolton High School in 1956. She was a member of Doty Springs Baptist Church where she taught First Place and helped to establish the library. She retired from the Social Security Administration. Marie loved to read, crochet, knit, sew, quilt, and cook. Marie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis D. Wray; her brother, Douglas Land, of the United Kingdom; five daughters, Denice Black, of Ethel, Evelyn Wood and husband, Mike, of Tennessee, Sharon Whitaker and husband, Tony, of California, Helen Black and husband, Barry, of Louisville, and Lisa Pettit and husband, Phil, of Kosciusko; seven grandchildren, Linda Labier, Jamie Black, Christopher Wray, Frannie Gallahue, Joshua Black, Carlos Black, and Mary-Katherine Black; four great-grandchildren, Kamrie Upchurch, Caroline Black, Isabella Labier, and Thomas Patrick Gallahue, V. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Carlos Land, Sr.; three brothers, Carlos Land, Bobby Land, and Jim Land; her sister, Verldon Land; and infant daughter, Patricia Elizabeth; and one granddaughter, Ayla Ann Pettit.
