Lyndol Jean Bell Ellison, born May 2, 1926, in Ethel, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord on March 17, 2025. She was the firstborn of Norman and Gladys Bell.
Lyndol dedicated her life to education, earning her degree from Delta State Teacher’s College and shaping young minds as an elementary teacher at Hill Demonstration School, Merigold Elementary, Brazil Elementary and Rosedale Elementary. It was during her time teaching in Brazil, Mississippi, that she met the love of her life, H.C. Ellison. They built a beautiful life together, sharing 74 years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family.
In addition to her career in education, Lyndol was a talented entrepreneur. She was the proud owner of Country Manor Beauty Salon and Gift Shop. Lyndol was also a pioneer in the beauty industry in Cleveland, Mississippi, bringing the town its first tanning bed and becoming Cleveland’s first BeautiControl Consultant.
A woman of deep faith, Lyndol was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko. Before her failing health, she was also actively involved in her community, serving as a volunteer at the Kosciusko Information Center and as a dedicated member of the Ethel Friendship Club.
Lyndol enjoyed gardening and decorating and was a talented painter. She was known for her spirited personality, red lipstick and her love of dance.
Lyndol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.C. Ellison. She is survived by her children, Scott Ellison and Penny Zito (Edward); her cherished grandchildren, Brandy Grant (Robert), Bailey Battistelli, and Brianna Battistelli; and her great-grandchildren, Braxton Grant, Gavin Grant, Annabelle Mabry, Tucker Rines, Braylee Smith, and Blaise Smith. She is also survived by her sisters, Gerry Cain and Polly Allen.
Pallbearers will be Gavin Grant, Braxton Grant, Robert Grant, Paul Allen, Mike Allen, Gabe Allen and Edward Zito.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday March 22, 2025, at Stonewall Presbyterian Church in Ethel, Mississippi. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m.and service at 11:00. Graveside to follow at Stonewall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stonewall Presbyterian Church or French Camp Academy.
