Linda Sue Lockett

November 6, 1954 — December 19, 2014

Ms. Lockett was born on November 6, 1954 in Rockford, Illinois to Dewayne Crump and Mildred Maples Crump Aldy. Her step-father was Paul E. "Hobo" Aldy, Sr. who came into her life at a very young age and then became her father. She married Ronnie Ferrell Lockett on October 6, 1974, the union lasted over forty years and produced two daughters, Christie and Casey. Survivors include her husband Ronnie, daughter Christie Vee (Lockett) Allen and her husband, Mike, of Thomastown, daughter Casey Lynn (Lockett) McDaniel and her husband, Tony, of Sallis, and four grandchildren, Alyssa Ann Allen, Michael Logan Allen, Miranda Lynn McDaniel, and Makayla Nicole McDaniel. Also surviving her are two sisters, Cindy Aldy Smith of Georgetown, Texas, Paula Aldy Walls of Alpharetta, Georgia, one brother, Henry Lee Aldy of Mississippi, one step-sister, JoAnn Aldy Phillips of Sibley, Louisiana, one step-brother, Paul E. Aldy, Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, and 18 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great, great nieces and nephews. Ms. Lockett attended JFK Elementary School in Rockford, Illinois for 1st and 2nd grade and she attended Sallis Elementary School for grades 3-8, then she later attended Kosciusko High School before graduating from McAdams High School in McAdams in 1972. After graduation, she attended Holmes County Community College. She began her business career with Zurick Insurance Co. in Jackson, Mississippi as a keypunch operator in 1973. She subsequently took a job in Kosciusko with the Sheller-Globe Co. and worked there from 1974 to 1981. After leaving Sheller-Globe, she worked for the I.A. Ferrell Co. / Margie's Dress shop in Thomastown from 1981 to 1994. From 1994 to 2014, she served as the Thomastown postmaster. Over the 34 years of work in Thomastown, she came to know everyone in the vicinity, and was well respected and loved by the people of the Thomastown area. Earlier this year, she was honored by her neighbors and local residents for both her public service and personal friendships. Memorials may be made to Thomastown Christian Church.
