In Loving Memory of a Wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend

Lawrence (Larry) Dennis Terrell, Sr.

July 30, 1943 – April 14, 2025

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man — a devoted family man, a respected business leader, and a friend to so many. Lawrence (Larry) Terrell, Sr., age 81, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he lived a life full of love, laughter, and legacy.

Born on July 30, 1943, Larry was the son of the late Richard and Winniefred Terrell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Terrell. Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Jean (Virgil) Campbell and Mary Hodges, along with precious nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who adored him.

More than anything, Larry cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Leisa Terrell and the proud and loving father of Denny Terrell (Amy) and Tiffany McKay (Steve). His greatest joy was being “Grand-daddy” to his grandchildren — Austin Terrell, Avery Terrell, Brayden McKay, and Mason McKay (Sara Grace) — and great-grandchild, Elliot Grace McKay. His love for his family was unwavering, and he never missed a chance to share a hug, a story, or a word of encouragement.

Known as “LT” to many and “Mr. Larry” to those who respected and admired him, he was a man who made everyone feel like family. Whether you knew him from the office, church, or in the community, you knew him as someone who was kind, caring, and always had a smile on his face.

Larry was a man of great integrity and passion, devoting 52 years to Ivey Mechanical where he served as CEO. His leadership and loyalty shaped not just the company, but the lives of everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him. He poured his heart into his work, always believing that people came first. His colleagues knew him not only as a visionary, but as a friend who led with grace, wisdom, and a smile that could light up any room.

On Saturdays, you could find Larry on the golf course with his faithful golf group. His love for the game was matched only by his love for his cabin, his work, and his four-legged companion, Macy. We can't forget his love for Elvis Presley. He was a true fan, he never turned down the chance to listen to a good Elvis song. Whether at home, on the green, or at the office, Larry was always fully present — always loving with his whole heart.

He was the kind of man who made you feel seen, valued, and cared for. A role model to many, he led by example — with kindness, strength, humility, and joy. He laughed often, smiled always, and loved deeply.

Though we will miss him dearly, we find peace in knowing that his legacy will live on through the family he adored, the company he helped build, and the countless lives that he touched. We are forever grateful for the example he set and the love he gave. His life was a gift to all who knew him.
