Laura Bell Russell

Mrs. Laura Bell Russell, 96, of Ethel, died Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Baptist Medical Center Attala. Visitation is from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Hunt will officiate. Mrs. Russell was born October 6, 1918, in Attala County to Charles P. and Lucy Leonard Bell. She was a member of Ethel Baptist Church, and a faithful attendant of "Faith" Sunday School. She was a gracious hostess, an excellent cook, and loved the company of others. Those surviving her are a brother, Charles P. Bell, Jr., and a sister, Lucy Bell Knight, both of Ethel; a grandson, William Allen Russell, of Murfreesboro, TN; three precious great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Russell, Sr.; sons, James C. Russell, Jr., and Charles Allen Russell; a grandson, Gabriel Allen Russell; brothers, Gordon Bell and Jeff Leonard Bell; and sisters, Charlene Bell Dicken and Lucille Rachel Green. Memorials may be sent to the Ethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
