Larry Gene Clemons of Harrison, AR, passed from this world on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 only to wake again in the presence of his Heavenly Father, God. The son of James Earl Clemons and Francis Juanita Chandler Clemons of Greenville, Mississippi, was born June 28, 1950, at Longshot, Mississippi. Larry attended his early years of school at Benoit, Mississippi and finishing at Greenville High School in 1969. He worked at Home Appliance during his high school years and then Greenville Mills, Choate Furniture Company and Baird and Company in Greenville. Moving to Harrison with his wife and son in 1994, he worked at Miller True Value Hardware until December 2008. Larry was reborn and baptized on Oct. 13, 1985, at Parkview Baptist Church of Leland, Mississippi. Upon moving to Arkansas, he was ordained as a deacon on Oct. 8, 2000, and served as deacon at Northvale Baptist Church and later serving as deacon at First Baptist Church of Bellefonte, where he attended church with his loving church family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Wayne Clemons, of Covington, Louisiana; and two sisters, Dorothy Fay Clemons and Barbara Ellen Clemons Davis, of Greenville, Mississippi. Larry is survived by his beloved bride of 35 years, Shelia Fay Graham Clemons, of Harrison; one son, Larry Jason Clemons, of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, James Lamar (Son) Clemons and Steve Edward Clemons, both of Benoit, Mississippi; and one sister, Linda Francis Clemons Gray, of Georgetown, Texas. He leaves behind also a host of loving nieces and nephews and many other family members as well as dear friends. Pallbearers will be niece and nephews and honorary pallbearers will be his two brothers, and Legacy Hospice nurses, CNAs, the staff and Dr. Victor and Dr. Melissa Chu.
