Lanie R. Purvis, Ethel, MS August 7, 1930 – January 22, 2021 Services for Lanie Purvis will be held Monday, February 8, 2021, at 1:00 PM from Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko with Rev. Glenn Jackson and Rev. Will Lott officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at Tabernacle Cemetery. Mrs. Purvis, born August 7, 1930 in Ethel, MS, died Friday, January 22, 2021, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She was a long-time member of Ethel Baptist Church. Survivors include children, Wade Purvis and Sylvia Purvis of Ethel, Wanda Jackson (Glenn) of Meridian, and Frances Voss (Michael) of Purvis; grandchildren, Alisha Wilson (Tommy), William Jackson (Cheramie), Allison Jones, Lauren Lott (Will), Christy Gray (Matthew), Matthew Voss (Katelyn); 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Minnie Alice Rone, Hettie Bradshaw, Ibbie Smith, Nina Hart and Frances Lester (Dud), and brother, George Rone; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Mary Oliver Rone; husband, Bill Purvis; brother, Thomas Rone; and sister, Mary Gibbs. Pallbearers will be nephews, Tommy Rone, Mark Smith, David Hart, Heath Lester, and grandsons, William Jackson and Matthew Voss. Honorary pallbearers will be the Faith Sunday School class at Ethel Baptist Church and brother-in-law, Dudley Lester.
