Judy Lee Gilmer

Judy Carlyon Gilmer, 77, of McCool, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Jordan Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Edgefield Baptist Church. Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Edgefield Baptist Church with burial following in Edgefield Cemetery. Ministering will be Rev. Mark Mayo.

Judy was born October 17, 1946, in Mississippi to Clayton Lee and Mavis Maudine Jennings Lee. She was a factory worker for 30 years at Carthage Corporation. Judy was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church. She cooked for Lions Club for 40 years and was a special member of the Dinner Club.

Judy is survived by dear friend Roy Steed; daughter Rhonda (Tilmon) Burkes of McCool, Mississippi; sister Wanda (Stan) Tate of Carthage, Mississippi; grandchildren Dallas and Justin Self, and Dylan Lemasters; great-grandchildren Hank Self, Tilmon Lee Self; and nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clayton Lee and Mavis Maudine Jennings Lee, six brothers, and one sister.

Serving as pallbearers are James (Bubba) Standard, Brian Sisson, Jack Sisson, David Kerr, Lester Burkes, and Adam Simpson. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Dylan Brooks, and Charlie Freeny.
