Joyce Rowell, 88, of McCool, Mississippi passed away June 21, 2023, at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation is 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, and 12: 30 p.m.- 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at McCool Cemetery. Amanda Matthews will officiate.
Joyce Frazier Rowell was born August 10, 1934, in Attala County, Mississippi to Joel Haynes Frazier and Thelma Kerr Frazier. She graduated from McCool High School. Joyce was a homemaker, seamstress, loved to crochet, and did ceramics. Joyce was a member of McCool Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband Billy Joe Rowell of McCool, Mississippi; daughter Christy (Darryl) Griffin of Independence, Missouri; granddaughters Leslie (Robert) Simpson, Amanda (Michael) Matthews of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jennifer Bierstine of Independence, Missouri; great-grandchildren Mila, Kamilla, Braedyn, Dominic, and Serena as well as her grand puppies.
She was preceded in death by parents J. Haynes Frazier and Thelma Kerr Frazier; son Robby Rowell; brothers William Berry Frazier and Joe Frazier.
Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Kerr, Stacy Sims, Scott Dempsey, Rob Simpson, Darryl Griffin, and Michael Matthews. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ben Wilkerson, Braedyn Matthews, and Dominic Matthews.
