Mrs. Mary Joyce Lawhorn Ferguson, 89, of Slidell, Louisiana, formerly of Ethel, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at her daughter’s residence. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., January 18, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Gilbert Martin will officiate the services. 

Mary Joyce Lawhorn was born on May 17, 1935, to Herman Lawhorn and Eunice Cullefer Lawhorn in Butler, Georgia. She had been married to the love of her life, Millard Ferguson, for 67 years. She was a homemaker who loved to entertain family and friends. Joyce was a longtime member of the Church of God before moving to Mississippi and a member of Hope Alive Church while living in Mississippi. 

Joyce is survived by her son, Mark (Kathy) Ferguson of Houston, Texas; daughters, Pamela (Gilbert) Martin of West Monroe, Louisiana; Tammy (Jane) Ferguson of Slidell, Louisiana; Dana (Marcus) Taylor of College Station, Texas; Tracey Hughes of Mooresville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Lucy Ault.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman A. Lawhorn and Eunice Cullefer Lawhorn, and her husband, Millard Ferguson, as well as her three sisters, Grace Hand, Myrtice Robinson, and Dean Edwards. 

Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Mark Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Tommy Martin, and Logan Martin.
