Josephine Fulcher Cook passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. A native of Winston County, Jo was a graduate of Ellison Ridge School. She attended East Central Community College and Mississippi State University where she earned a degree in business education. She met the love of her life – Arthur Milton Cook at a Mississippi State basketball game. They were married on Easter Sunday of 1957. After marrying, they moved to the East Coast of the United States while Milton served in the Coast and Geodetic Survey. After leaving the service, they moved to Jackson, MS where Jo worked as an account manager for Mississippi Power and Light and as a model for McRae’s Department Store, and Milton worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. A few years later the couple with their two boys moved to Kosciusko. Milton served as the city engineer, and Jo taught and served as the director at the First Baptist Church kindergarten. She later joined Milton in his office as a part-time secretary and full-time mom to Art and Mike. Jo’s primary hobby was gardening. She was well respected by many for her knowledge and dedication to natural landscape gardening.

Jo is survived by her sister, Julia Fulcher Taylor of Kosciusko; sons, Arthur Leon (Jennie) Cook and Michael Olyn Cook; grandsons, Arthur Maxwell Cook and William Bishop Cook all of Kosciusko.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olyn Dee and Carlene Eaves Fulcher; her husband, Arthur Milton Cook; her sister, Bonnie Fulcher White; and her brothers Max Olyn Fulcher and Riley Joel Fulcher.
