Johnny R. Morgan

Johnny R. Morgan,76, of Brandon, formerly of McCool, passed away September 6, 2022, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. from the Hopewell Baptist Church. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Roger Griffith will officiate.

Johnny was born September 19, 1945, in Choctaw County, MS, to Ruben Henry Morgan and Myrtle Florence Black Morgan. He was a truck driver for CCI. Johnny was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Linda Morgan of Brandon; daughter, Samantha (Chris) Vinklarek; step-son, Perry (Melissa) Lanius of Brandon; brother, Grover (Chris) Morgan of Pelham, AK; sisters Patty Hatten and Allene Dorsey of McCool, and Martha Ryals of Zama; grandchildren, Morgan and Austin Vinklarek, step-grandchildren, Regan Lanius and Sarah White; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ruben Henry Morgan and Myrtle Florence Black Morgan; nephew, Michael Dorsey; step-children, Sandy Lanius and Jim Lanius.

Danny Ryals, Brad Ryals, Ronald Bunn, Mark Bunn, Chris Stevenson, and Floyd Morgan are serving as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
