John Keith Chaney, of Kosciusko, MS, died on October 22, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was 91. He was born in Little Rock, MS, on September 22, 1925, to Ethel and Irvin Chaney. He enlisted in the army in 1942 and retired after twenty years of service. He obtained the rank of First Sergeant and from all accounts was one of the best the army had produced. He would be quick to tell you that his greatest accomplishment in 1942 was marrying a beautiful young school teacher, Inus Edwards, from Zama, MS. They had two children whom they adored. As a military family, they had the opportunity to travel to many parts of this country and Europe. Mr. Chaney retired in Kosciusko in 1962. He was a bus broker for Sheller Globe for many years. He and his group delivered school buses all over the country. Anyone who knew Mr. Chaney was blessed with his positive attitude and his big smile. His devotion to his Lord, his family, and his church was the foundation of his life. He was predeceased by his wife, Inus Edwards Chaney. He will be greatly missed by his son, Maj. Ed Chaney (ret) of Oxford, MS, his daughter, Dr. Sharon Jones of Madison, MS, his granddaughter, Lori Lembo (Chris), and his great grandchildren, Sharon and Nick Lembo of McKinney, TX. The service will be held at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS, on October 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Parkway Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations may be sent to: Parkway Baptist Church P.O. Box 579 Kosciusko, MS 39090
