Jimmy Utz

James Louis (Jimmie) Utz earned the checkered flag as he made his final lap of life on July 16, 2024 and went to the great race track in the sky. Jimmie was 81 years of age. He was born in McVille, Mississippi on March 19, 1943 to Louis and Eva Mae Utz. He was a retired truck driver and was currently still working part time as a traffic coordinator for Waters Truck and Tractor. He will be remembered for his love of his God, his family, especially his two grandsons, and his country. Mr. Utz was an avid fan of dirt track racing and built and raced dirt trackers for many years in his U-2 car.

Services are slated for July 18, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Jordan Funeral Home, Kosciusko, Mississippi. Visitation is from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by two sons, Jamie (Nancy) Utz of Houston, Mississippi, Robert (Lesley) Utz of Kosciusko, Mississippi and his special friend of many years, Tene J. McQuirter, and two grandsons, R. J. Utz and David Utz.

Pallbearers are Terry Reed Merchant, Timmy Merchant, Bubba Scott, Paul Wayne Moore, Ben Pinkard, R. J. Utz, Tye Steele and David Utz. Honary pallbearers are Paul Merchant, Butch Pinkard, Phillip Williams, Jackie Suggett, Pam Pee, Robin Dangler, Tara Tavares Davis, Paul Tanksley, Jackie McElwain, Kathy Ross, Mike Brown, Jim Riley, Ted Burns, Mike Stokes, Benton Nail, and Willie Brewer .
