Jerry Summerlin, Sr. Saint Jo, TX formerly of Kosciusko Jerry Lee Summerlin, Sr., 55, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home in Saint Jo, TX. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Friday, April 7 at Edgefield Baptist Church with burial in the Edgefield Cemetery. Rev. Walter Hines and Rev. Tony Black will officiate. He was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army where he received a marksmanship award. He was also a former volunteer for the D.A.V., Civil Defense, Attala County Fire Department, and the Attala County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife, Paula Black Summerlin of Saint Jo, TX; children, Justin Ray Summerlin and wife, Amber Castle Summerlin of French Camp, Brittany King Sisson and husband, Brian of McCool, Courtany Summerlin of Kosciusko, and Jerry "Jay" (Amanda) Lee Summerlin, II of Kosciusko; eight grandchildren; brother, Glenn Howard Summerlin and wife, Cynthia of Fort Worth, TX; and sister, Hope Summerlin Dewlen and husband Scott of Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by his step-father, James "Pop" Franks; his mother, Patsy Franks; his father, Gene Howard Summerlin; and brother, Billy Gene Summerlin Pallbearers are Marcus Black, Michael Black, Brad Tubby, Willie Tubby, Jacob Dillon, and Todd Settlemir.
