Jeanette Oakes, 86, of Kosciusko, Mississippi passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. until 1: 30 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2024, at Jordan Funeral Home. Graveside service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2024, at Parkway Cemetery with her nephew, Rev.

Jeanette was born July 30, 1937, in Vaiden, Mississippi to James Oscar McEachern and Doris James McEachern. She attended Vaiden high School where she was a cheerleader and considered an above average basketball player while maintaining excellent grades. She retired from Citizen's National Bank as Head Cashier. Jeanette was at Merchant and Farmers Bank for many years, where she made many lifelong friends.

She loved working with the public and spoke fondly of her coworkers and customers. Jeanette considered First United Methodist Church in Kosciusko as her church family.

Jeanette is survived by a son Cliff Oakes of Tarzana, California; daughter Suzanne Oakes of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; and a sister Annice McCrory of Kosciusko, Mississippi. She is also survived by neices and nephews who loving referred to her as "Aunt Nette."

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Doris McEachern, husband Dan Oakes, brother James McEachern.
