Janie Ramage Grantham

Janie Ramage Grantham, a retired nurse of 48 years, went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 17, 2015, after a valiant struggle with a lengthy illness. Those surviving her are her husband, Lavoy Grantham; her two children, Michelle Corriveau, and Amie Ramage Rawson; a son-in-law, Michael Rawson; two grandchildren, Casey Dabbs and Clay Rawson; two great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Issie; four brothers, James W. "Buddy" (Jean) Ramage, Jr., Boyd Allen Ramage, Sr., Jackie (Peggy) Ramage, and Mack (Beth) Ramage; and "Aunt Pete" to her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents James W. Ramage, Sr. and Myrtis Rigby Ramage. Janie was born May 27, 1949. After graduating Kosciusko High School, she received her LPN degree from Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. There she worked for 18 years, and then continued her nursing career with Sta Home Health of Kosciusko for another 30 years. She retired in September of 2014. Her gentle hand served many patients and her kind heart touch many lives throughout her nursing career. She was an active member of the Hesterville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 20 years. She served in many capacities, including Worth Matron. She was a lifelong member of Sand Hill Baptist Church, where she served her Lord in numerous positions. She began playing the piano at Sand Hill at the age of 14, and continued for over 50 years until her illness. Of all Janie's accomplishments, her greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift of truly serving others and loving unconditionally. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, food, family and friends. She leaves her family with the knowledge that they were truly loved and that she loved the Lord.
