James Melvin Beach

July 1, 1929 — February 2, 2015

James Melvin Beach, Sr. 85, died Monday, February 2, 2015 in the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Parkway Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an active cattleman, hunter, and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Ruth Maddox Beach of Kosciusko; son, Mel Beach, Jr. of Kosciusko; daughters, Michele B. Dees of Kosciusko and Stephanie B. Allen and husband, Chris of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Stephen Cockroft, Carson Allen, Mason Allen, and Matt Burchfield and wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Adilyn Burchfield, Carter Burchfield, and Nash Thompson; sister, Velma Glen Beach Pittman of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Elmer and Sara Velma Skeen Beach; and sister, Loreane Beach McCrory. Pallbearers are Matt Burchfield, Stephen Cockroft, Mason Allen, Jamie Thompson, Tye Steele, and Tracy Mangrum. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Steele, J. C. Holt, and the Adult One Men B Sunday School Class.
