James Larry Burrell, Sr.

James Larry Burrell, Sr., 64, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Select Specialty of Belhaven in Jackson, MS. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James was born to Joe Jimmy and Maggie Mae Keen Burrell in Holmes Co., Mississippi. He was a member of the Longview Baptist Church and retired from Rowan Companies after 38 years as an electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy McGee Burrell of Starkville, MS; two sons, Jamie Burrell and his wife Sarah, of Tupelo, MS, and Derek Burrell of Starkville, MS; four grandchildren, Kelby Grace Burrell, Jay Burrell, Collin Burrell, and Weston Self; three sisters, Martha Ellington, Shelia Howard both of Kosciusko, MS., Theresa Rule, and her husband, Tommy of Farmington, MO. A host of nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was preceded by his parents, Joe Jimmy Burrell and Maggie Mae Keen Burrell, and one sister, Nancy Williamson.
