James Leonard Rogers, 73, died Thursday, April 13, 2015 at his home. Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 17 at the French Camp Presbyterian Church. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church with burial to follow in the French Camp Cemetery. Rev. Roy Hawkins and Rev. Lynn Downing will officiate. He was a member of French Camp Presbyterian Church. He was an Elder in the Johnson City, TN Presbyterian Church. He was also a Clerk of Session in the Huntsville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Becky Rogers of French Camp; daughter, Debbie Rogers Ivey and husband, Dr. Tim Ivey of Vancleave, MS; four grandchildren, Hannah Lynn Ivey, Lauren Camille Ivey, John Michael Ivey, and Samuel Lawrence Ivey; sister, Mary Lynn Rogers Phipps of The Woodland, TX; niece, Andrea Phipps Wensberg of Stavanger, Norway; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Mary Rogers; nephew, Jeremy Douglas; brother-in-law, Larry Douglas Phipps; and in-laws, Sam and Estelle Patterson. Pallbearers are Tim Cutts, Ken Chandler, Frank Faulkner, Keith Box, Chris McIntire, and Sammy Whitmire. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Hood, Charlie Scoggins, Harvey Black, Don Chandler John Cockrell, Bobby Gene Henderson, Paul Hopkins, Johnny Pee, and Charlie Rich. Ushers will be Glen Barlow and Billy Prewitt. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
