Ila Burden

Ila Thaxton Burden Kosciusko, MS Ila Thaxton Burden, 93, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 peacefully at her home. Ila was born on September 16, 1927 and was a resident of Kosciusko for more than 52 years. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Parkway Cemetery. The Rev. Don Cook and Rev. Walter Hines officiated with Rev. Chris Cauthen providing the music. Pallbearers will be the children and grandchildren. Mrs. Burden worked in the Kosciusko School System at the Lower Elementary school as a teachers aide for more than 17 years. She was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church for more than 50 years and more recently a longtime member of the Marie Harmon Sunday School class. Mrs. Burden is survived by sons, Don Burden (Maria) of White Lake, Michigan, Larry Burden (Rhonda) of Spring, Texas, and Rick Burden (Mary Kay) of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristy Bell (Keith) of Mobile, Alabama, Michael Burden (Sarah Jean) of Houston, Texas, Sarah Burden of Spring, Texas, Eric Burden of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Chris Burden of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Andrew Burden (Kinsie Carroll) of Newnan, Georgia. Mrs. Burden is also survived by great-grandchildren, Alexis Wilson (Colton Wrieden) of Sweet Springs, Missouri, Keith Bell of Mobile, Alabama, Bryleigh Bell of Mobile, Alabama, and Ila Jean Burden of Houston, Texas. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Her life and love was her family. Mrs. Burden was preceded in death by her husband, of over 62 years, Donald Burden; her parents, Lilly Mae Thaxton and John Thaxton; brothers, Charlie Thaxton, John Robert Thaxton, Boyd Thaxton; sisters, Susie McManus and Vera Edwards.
