Ida "Mack" Leonard Memphis, TN Ida M. Keith "Mack" Leonard, 95, died May 18. Visitation will be May 20 at 1 pm at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS followed by graveside service at 2:00 pm. in the Parkway Cemetery. A native of Carthage, MS, she attended Blue Mountain College and earned her bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. In 1941 she married William Charles (Billy) Leonard of Kosciusko, MS. They began life together in Fort Bragg, NC, as he trained to become an army artillery officer. His final orders took them to California where they were stationed until his deployment to the South Pacific. After her husband's return from active duty, they made their home in Kosciusko where they raised three children and where she was active in many civic activities including the New Century Club, the Garden Club and the DAR. She was editor of Miss Gardener magazine for a time and also a feature writer for the State Times. An avid devotee of genealogy, she spent many hours researching her Keith and McMullan family ancestry. She also enjoyed frequent buying trips to the apparel markets in Dallas and New York for the women's wear department at Leonard's Department Store. As a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in church circle throughout her life in Kosciusko. After her husband's death in 2005, she moved to Germantown, TN, and for the past 10 years she has been a happy resident of The Village at Germantown surrounded by many wonderful friends. Her love of the Lord and her steadfast assurance of eternal life are an enduring legacy to her family and all those she cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Billy Leonard, her parents, Marshall McNeil and Ida McMullan Keith and her three siblings, Alice Fraser, Betty Stribling and George Keith. She is survived by three daughters: Betty Nelson (Michael) of Memphis, Mary Mack Leonard of Madison, MS, and Charla Reynolds (Tom) of Culpeper, VA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Michelle Miller (Eric) of Memphis, Lee Nelson (Stephanie) of Nashville, Keith Meacham (Jon) of Nashville, Mary Marshall Smythe of Nashville, Keith Reynolds of Richmond, VA, William Reynolds (Johanna) of Portland, OR, and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS, 39745 or to The First Presbyterian Church 603 Smythe Street, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
