Hildred Ray Childs

Hildred Ray Childs, 84, of Ethel, MS passed away December 16, 2021 at Martha Joe Lesli VA Nursing Home in Kosciusko. A visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Matt Steed will be ministering. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Edith Crosby Childs; parents, Arthur and Lena Childs of Weir, MS, and sister Peggy Burton. He is survived by his son, Thomas Childs, (wife-Leigh Ann); grandson Griffin Childs of Weddington, NC ; nephew Ritchie Burton of Pontotoc ; and niece Susan Burton of N Mexico. Hill is a veteran of the USAF for which he proudly served 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force he served as maintenance supervisor at LuVel Dairy Products for the remainder of his career. He is a long standing member of Ethel Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was mechanically gifted and could fix almost anything and was always happy to help friends and family. He loved gospel music, tractors, old trucks and cars, and “tinkering” in his shop. Serving as pallbearers will be Ted Burns, Scott Burns, Frank Crosby, Gary Alldread, James Nance, and Allen Watts.
