Harriett Sorrells Owens

Harriett Sorrells Owens, 84, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her residence in Kosciusko. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 am at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Gary Glazier and Lisa Caplan will officiate the service.

Mrs. Owens was a member of Williamsville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired after thirty-two years from Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital, where she was a purchasing agent.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bo” Owens, Sr.; parents, Harry and Gladys Chorley Sorrells; granddaughter, Anna Owens; brother, John Sorrells; and sister, Bettye Sorrells.

She is survived by one son, James Earl “Bo” Owens, and his wife, Delia, from Madison, MS; two daughters, Carrie Sims and her husband, Jeff of Kosciusko, MS, and Stephanie Morgan, and her husband, Hamer of Clinton, MS; seven grandchildren, Madison (Justin) Hurdle, Austin (Katherine) Sims, Alexandria Owens, Benjamin Owens, Sidney Owens Morgan, Kate Morgan, and Quin Morgan; two greatgrandchildren; Maely and Maddie Hurdle. A number of nieces and nephews also survive her.

Hamer Morgan, Ricky Moorman, Jeff Sims, Ben Owens, Austin Sims, and Justin Hurdle will serve as pallbearers.
