Gerald King

Grover Gerald King, 78, of the Hesterville community in Attala County, Mississippi passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at his residence. Visitation is from 12 :00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Jordan Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Parkway cemetery. Rev. Kenny Gentry and Rev. Donald Self are officiating the service.

Gerald was born October 11, 1945, in Hesterville to John L. King and Billie Grantham King. He was a retired lineman and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Gerald is survived by his sons, Trent (Barbara Ann) King of Zama, and Brad (Georgiana) King of Carrollton; daughter, Tammy King (Timmy) Strahan of Carmack; sister, Wavelon (Gay) Carter of Carmack; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special thanks to his caregiver, Dylon Carlile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John King and Billie King, and sister, Dell Summerlin.

Serving as pallbearers are Dr. Thomas Carter, Tim “Bubba” Strahan, Michael Davide, Chris Schuster, Dylon Carlile, and Matthew Hopson. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mark Guttery and Nathan Hopson.
