Georgia Ruth Ballard

Georgia Ruth Payne Ballard, 100, of Kosciusko passed away peacefully at the Attala County Nursing Center on June 7, 2022. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Meggs will officiate. Mrs. Ballard was born on March 17, 1922, in Kosciusko, MS to William Minor Payne and Etha Elizabeth Meggs Payne. She was a homemaker and a member of Crestview Church. Georgia is survived by daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Ballard; son-in-law, Johnny Black; grandchildren, John Black, Karen Cooper, Jennie Starks, and Michael Ballard; four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, William Minor Payne and Etha Elizabeth Meggs Payne; husband, Melvin Ballard; brothers, Allen Payne, Ralph Payne, and Pinky Payne; sisters, Jeanelle McCrory, and Ellen Snuggs Westendorf; daughter, Debbie Black, and son Michael Ballard. Serving as pallbearers is Raymond Snuggs, Joseph Snuggs, Tim Payne, Mike Pinkard, Kevin Gibson, and Joey Vaughn. Memorials may be sent to Crestview Church 550 Highway 12 West, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
