Gary Lamar Philyaw, 61, of Philadelphia, Mississippi, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Neshoba General Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025, at Attala Memory Gardens. Rev. Butch Bell will officiate the services.
Gary was born November 11, 1963, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Bobby Ray Philyaw and Mary Joann Stokes Philyaw. He was of the Baptist Faith. His favorite hobby was fishing, especiallydeep-sea fishing. Gary loved family gatherings and was a proud, supportive grandfather.
Gary is survived by his sons, Bobby Lamar (Crystal) Philyaw of Enterprise, Mississippi, and Brenton Everette Philyaw of Carrollton, Mississippi; grandchildren, Nadia Philyaw, Aiden Philyaw, Gauge Philyaw, Chandler Philyaw, and Hadley Jo Philyaw; sisters, Mary Ann Peebles of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Wanda Kay Smith of Newton, Mississippi, Carol Burns of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Tammy (Jeff) McCrory of West, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Ray Philyaw and Mary Joann Stokes Philyaw; nephew, Larry Sowders, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Mickey Peebles.
